What Broadband Services is Voice compatible with?
Wideband Voice is only available on Wideband Broadband services like our Wireless, ADSL & ADSL2+.
Do l need to keep my phone line?
Yes, firstly your DSL will not work without it, plus it provides access to 000 and other services.
When l make calls, does the data count towards my usage?
No, this is one of the major differences with the Wideband Voice Service. All you pay for is the call, not the data used.
When my connection is shaped will that effect my voice quality?
No. We have put a special allowance into our shaping script so that your Wideband Voice service will not effected if your connection is shaped. This is another major reason you should choose Wideband Voice over the others.
Is the qualify of Wideband Voice better than other services?
Wideband’s Voice service is given priority in our network which increases the call quality. Other providers VoIP is given the same priority as normal internet traffic.
Is Wideband Voice a replacement for my normal phone?
No, it provides an enhancement to your standard phone service by picking the best call path and the cheapest rates for your calls.
Can l use my own voice box or adaptor?
Whilst other voice units will most likely work with our voice system, we only provide support and regularly test the following units:
- Sipura/Linksys SPA-3000
- Linksys SPA-3102-AU
- Open Networks 812
- Open Networks 824 Router & VoIP
- Open Networks 824 Router with Wireless & VoIP
I have an Engin Voice Box SPA-300 or similar can l use it?
Most Engin Voice Boxes are locked to only work on the Engin Network, you most likely will not be able to unlock the box.
How much does it cost?
There are a number of different plans to suit all customers. We also have a range of installation options with either short or longer contract lengths to keep your installation costs to a minimum.
Can l view my calls before the bill arrives?
Yes, just like your internet data your calls will show up on our My Wideband site. Once you hang up the call, it will appear on the list including the cost.
Can the Rates Change?
National and Mobile rates cannot change without giving you 30 days notice, however international rates can change from month to month. You should use the online phone number rate checker tool to see what the international rate is for that particular number.

Why should l purchase a Wideband Voice Box or Router?
Wideband’s hardware comes pre-configured to work with our network and Wideband maintains and supports the warranty on the unit.
Are we locked into a contract for the Voice Service?
No, Wideband Voice is a month to month service and can be cancelled at any time.
Can l signup online?
If you are signing up for a new ADSL service you can now select the VoIP service as an option. Existing clients simply need to fill in the application from found at the bottom of this FAQ.
